Discovering Coffee Hideaways Part II - Pearldrops

It’s not a secret that Pearldrops is one of the best bubble tea spots in Vancouver, but one did not expect Pearldrops to serve great lattes! I had the oppurtunity to try an Red Tea Lychee Latte this Saturday and I had to say, I was definitely impressed. It was very hot and stayed hot for quite a long time, yet the milk was not burnt either.

For those of you who don’t already know Pearldrops, this teahouse is located in an unusual location at the corner of Hastings and Willingdon, just north of Brentwood Town Centre.
While this teashop is owned by Vietnamese Phong Vo (Asian… surprise …surprise!!!), you don’t see Taiwanese bubble tea baristas. Nope. The staff are mostly made up of Caucasian, CBCs, and other not-so-honger Asians.
My dad’s Almond Latte was also a recommended drink. There’s a subtle almond taste and isn’t too sweet either.
Being a teahouse, their teas are also nice. They have a variety of green, red, and black teas, starting from $12 per every 50 grams. My mom loves their selection of green teas.

Like Gene Coffeehouse (my previous review), their bubbleteas, teas, and lattes are pricey. My Lychee Latte was about $4.70 for about 14 oz, a little more than a tall-size at Starbucks. But it was well worth it.
